Dr. Malone: You go, sir! You are right on the money. I was involved in the music scene in Nashville for more than 2 decades, and let me tell you, there are many more "liberals" in this business than not. However, let us not forget, that each & every musician looking to make a buck, and make no mistake about it, that's what they are here for -- every one adopts a certain flavor to their lyrics so that either the song or the recording appeals to the broadest demographic. Often their true sentiments are left on the back burner, which is a shame. Gone are the Flying Burrito Brothers, Poco and other wonderful country music "expatriots" who dared to go afield of the "iconic" sentimentalities of the norm. Remember Goose Creek Symphony? Still around and putting out wonderfully different music that still belongs in the Country Music category. It is the banality and the right-wing attitudes most expect to get from this genre that keeps me from listening to those stations anymore. I really needed to hear what you had to say about old Woodie. Don't forget the many others out there. Virginia Arouh Tennessee State University
